I’m a Midlands-based Speech Therapist, Singing Teacher, and Vocal Massage practitioner, specialising in voice care and vocal rehabilitation for performers and professional voice users.

I offer skilled assessment, treatment, and ongoing support for people experiencing voice, speech, or communication difficulties. This includes adults, children, and young people with voice disorders that may cause vocal fatigue, pain, or changes in voice quality, as well as those with singing voice problems, articulation difficulties, fluency issues, or upper airway disorders, such as chronic cough or ILO.

My approach is holistic, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual. Whether your challenges stem from anatomy, technique, or lifestyle, I combine training in vocal performance (singing and spoken voice) with advanced clinical voice therapy to help you regain confidence and control in your voice. Therapy may include detailed assessment, discussion, manual palpation, acoustic analysis, and behavioural approaches to support lasting change.

I specialise in helping elite and professional voice users optimise breath, phonation, resonance, and articulation – ensuring the voice functions freely, efficiently, and expressively. Sessions are available online or face-to-face, depending on your needs.

Common conditions I work with include:

· Muscle Tension Dysphonia

· Vocal nodules, cysts, and polyps

· Vocal trauma and fatigue

· Dysarthria, lisps, stammers, and clarity difficulties

· Chronic cough, globus, hypersensitivity in and around the larynx

I also provide manual therapy to release tension in the muscles of the neck, jaw, and larynx, supporting more balanced and efficient vocal function.

My background blends clinical expertise with creative insight. Before qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist, I trained in Singing (and Flute) at Birmingham Conservatoire, then studied Popular Music Performance in Liverpool before performing professionally across the UK. I’ve recorded in studios, toured theatres, music venues and festivals, led choirs, and taught singing to people of all ages – experiences that give me a deep understanding of the performer’s world.

Alongside my private practice, I bring 14 years of NHS experience, including over a decade in joint ENT/SLT Voice Clinics at Wythenshawe Hospital (South Manchester), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Birmingham), and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, as well as community and outpatient services in Worcestershire.

If you’re experiencing challenges with your voice, or simply want to protect and strengthen it, I’d love to hear from you and discuss how I can help.

Patient referrals have to come from an ENT surgeon having viewed the larynx first. NHS referrals may be made via the GP to UCLH’s ENT voice centre and then if the ENT refers on to SLT they will be seen by that service. However, it is not possible to request a specific clinician within the UCLH SLT team.
